Roof takeoff calculator
Enter the roof and its measured line lengths. You get surface area, sheet run and an ordering schedule with the cut list for each line type. Nothing is stored and nothing leaves your browser.
Roof
Measured line lengths
One row per run, as measured off the roof — before allowances.
Takeoff
- Plan area
- 230.10 m²
- Surface area
- 249.06 m²
- Pitch
- 22.5°
- Sheet run
- 326.8 m
Surface area = plan area × 1/cos(pitch). Sheet run = surface area ÷ cover width — a lower bound; it excludes cutting waste, which needs a nested layout.
Ordering schedule

Read this before ordering from it
- The ordering arithmetic is unverified. Our rule adds the run allowance and rounds up to the next 100 mm. Tested against a real AppliCad report it does not reproduce their fascia and gutter quantities — no single piece count satisfies both. Treat ordered lengths as indicative.
- Runs are now split to buyable stock— 8 m for most flashings, 7 m for barge — with the lap allowance added at each joint. Confirm the stock lengths your supplier actually carries.
- Sheet run excludes cutting waste. A real block cut on the reference job ran ~10.9% over roof area.
- Quantities are a draft for a qualified person to check. Not a compliance document.
